Brazilian Butt Lift Procedure in In Spartanburg & Greenville
What is a Brazilian Butt Lift?
Butt augmentation using your own fat, otherwise known as the Brazilian Butt Lift, has exploded in popularity over the past few years. The Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) is so named because Brazilian women are famous for their beautiful, curvaceous buttocks. If you are a woman or man who has dreamed of a more curvaceous butt, BBL may be your solution. This procedure involves performing extensive liposuction to narrow the waist. The fat that is removed is injected into your buttocks, not only to increase their size, but to improve the contour, projection and definition of the butt.
What you should expect from your BBL procedure
It’s a common misconception that Brazilian Butt Lift has to result in huge buttocks. Although some patients desire this, often patients are looking for enhanced shape, contour and projection of the buttocks without massive enlargement. If a huge butt is your heart’s desire, however, that usually is possible – provided you have enough fat to donate for the endeavor.
What are the steps to a Brazilian Butt Lift?
The key steps:
- Liposculpture of the areas around the butt. Eliminating fat around the waist, flanks (love handles) and outer thighs is critical to creating a shapely butt and a more feminine body shape. The ideal female torso has a narrow waist and curvy buttocks; without liposuction, creating this is not possible.
- Fat collection and purification. Fat removed by liposuction is collected using a completely closed, in-line system. This allows the majority of fat cells which are removed to remain viable. Serum and oils can be drained from the fat using this system and antibiotics can be added, lessening the chances of postoperative infection.
- Fat injection. Once the fat has been collected and purified, it is reinjected using syringes. Fat is used to reshape the butt and to give it enhanced projection, predominantly in the upper portions of the buttocks. Fat can be injected in moderation, merely to give the butt an improved shape and contour, or in excess, to give a significant increase in volume. Multiple procedures may be required for a significant increase in volume.

Who is a candidate for a BBL?
Ideal candidates for Brazilian Butt Lift are in good shape and have excess fat of the abdomen, back, love handles or outer thighs. The procedure generally takes two-and-a-half to three hours and can be done in combination with other procedures. Patients cannot sit on their buttocks for 10 days postoperatively and should refrain from strenuous exercise for 3-4 weeks postoperatively.
